It's worth pointing out: this was where he wanted to park. I didn't put him in a down-stay there. I might have chosen somewhere a little more out of the way, but he really likes the floor mat.
Interestingly, the cat also used to be fond of sleeping on the floormat there and would hang around while I did dishes waiting to have it back.
